Lives We Touch

Karen & Bill

Karen and Bill were barely making it while he had full-time employment. Now sometimes he works only two or three days a week. They can’t be assured from one week to the next how many hours Bill will have. Karen currently stays home to care for their two young children.

They were living on hope and hard work to make their dreams come through. However the so-called “economic downturn” hit them very hard. They swallowed their pride and called us for assistance.

We helped to pay some of the rent and gave them a gift certificate for food.  We also made them aware of other community resources like Broken Bread that they might benefit from.

We offer understanding, hope and immediate relief to those in need without regard to religion, race or nationality.

We aid with food, rent, utilities and other basic necessities in times of crisis through home visits from pairs of volunteer Vincentians.
