There is an immediate need for handymen to help with a variety of projects at the St. Vincent de Paul Society Store. These are short-term projects.
Another immediate need is persons willing to help with pickups and deliveries of furniture and appliances for the St. Vincent de Paul Store.
The St. Vincent de Paul Store helps those in need in Fond du Lac County. Thank you for your consideration. If you are interested, please contact Carol at the store at 322-9505.

The Mission of the St. Vincent de Paul Society

The Fond du Lac Chapter of the St. Vincent de Paul Society has enjoyed a strong presence in the community since 1934.  As a totally volunteer society we are proud that fully 98% of our income stays in Fond du Lac County and 95% goes to directly serve the needs of those in crisis.

Working in pairs, our volunteer Vincentians discern the needs of the people who come to us and provide relief no matter the religion, race or nationality of the family or individual.  Assistance with food, rent, utilities and other basic needs are the cornerstone of what we provide but the compassion of our volunteers often fills a void that is hard to define for those who reach out to us.

Our Thrift Store helps us not only fund our work, but also supplies quality used clothing, household goods and furniture at low prices.  Most of our income comes through direct donations and whether you choose to help by shopping in our store, making a cash contribution or getting more deeply involved on a personal level you’ll know you are indeed making a difference by touching people’s lives when they need it most.

We hope you’ll consider taking the next step for the St. Vincent de Paul Society and your own community.

Mission Statement

“Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a Catholic lay organization leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to the needy and suffering in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frederic Ozanam, and its patron, St. Vincent de Paul.”

Lives We Touch

Peter and Betty

On a recent visit we met with Peter and Betty.  Peter had worked for a company for 10 years and developed a severe back problem.  He was unable to continue his work and was let go.  The company denies any connection with the injury and Peter has received no severance.  Through his son, he was able to find another job but it is only part-time.  He has been unable to receive disability.  Betty as well has health concerns and currently is unable to work.  They are in their mid-fifties and have limited job skills. Their savings are quite restricted.  We helped pay their utilities and gave them food assistance.  However, my heart aches for them as they face a very uncertain future.

We offer understanding, hope and immediate relief to those in need without regard to religion, race or nationality.

We aid with food, rent, utilities and other basic necessities in times of crisis through home visits from pairs of volunteer Vincentians.
